My interest in photography began during my junior year of high school. I was at my junior prom, and my friend brought his camera. I asked if I could use it for a little while, and he agreed to let me take pictures! I did not know what I was doing. I just put it in auto and took pictures of whatever caught my interest. Although I did not know what I was doing, I found it fun! After that, I was fascinated with photography, but did not have enough money for any camera gear, so I put it aside. Eventually, in the summer, I got a job and saved up as much as possible. While I saved up, I watched YouTube videos and learned as much as possible about photography. At the end of the summer, I finally purchased a camera and lens.
When I got my camera, I took it everywhere and took advantage of any opportunity to take pictures. I took pictures of my friends, family, landscapes, sports, and even pets! I even joined my school's yearbook team to be able to take more photos. Shortly after I got my camera, I started learning as much as I could about running a photography business. I created graphics such as business cards, a logo, a watermark, and this website. I worked on building my portfolio so that my clients could see all of my work! From there, everything took off! I eventually ended up getting recruited to be a sports photojournalism intern with Philly Sports Digest. That all goes to show how, with a little bit of hard work, you can achieve a lot. You need to stay humble and continue to learn and grow!
